The Government’s move to provide the biggest allocation to the Education Ministry shows that it is committed to improving the quality of education in the country, said Dr Maszlee Malik.

The Education Minister said this also goes to prove that there is no compromise in providing the best education.

“We believe this is a good start towards building a brighter future,” he said after the tabling of  Budget 2019 in Dewan Rakyat on November 2.

Earlier, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said the Education Ministry remains the single largest recipient of Budget allocation at  RM60.2bil or 19.1 per cent of the total Budget.

Dr Maszlee said the ministry’s focus now is to improve the education quality.

“I hope this will be a good start for the country’s future and let us build more quality education for a better nation-building.

“We are also confident that the spending of this allocation will be more transparent than the previous years,” he said.
